Investigation continues in deputy-involved fatal crash

Corey Allicock, 28, killed while riding in Uber car

LONGWOOD, Fla. – Investigators with Florida Highway Patrol said on Monday that it's clear someone ran a red light in a deputy involved fatal accident, but troopers aren't sure which vehicle.

The accident happened on SR-434 and Ronald Reagan Boulevard in Longwood, just before 2 a.m. Saturday.

FHP said that it has obtained surveillance video from inside two area businesses, but said that it's unclear if the video captured the crash.

The Seminole County Sheriff's Office said that Deputy Scott Sullivan was responding to a domestic call at the time of the crash, adding that he suffered a fractured neck.

Sullivan has been employed by the department since July of 2013. His passenger, Darren Shield was on a ride-along, set to begin work as a deputy in January.

FHP said that it has not spoken with Sullivan or Shield.

However, investigators did speak with Robert Williams, the 73-year-old Uber driver. FHP said that Williams does not remember the accident because of his injuries.

Corey Allicock, 28, was killed in the crash while riding as a passenger in the Uber car. Allicock's father said that his family is seeking answers about what exactly happened.

Seminole County said that a dash camera was inside Deputy Sullivan's patrol vehicle, but is unsure if it able to be viewed because of the damage to the vehicle.
