Fires scorch abandoned homes in Pine Hills, Winter Park

No injuries reported in blazes

PINE HILLS, Fla. - Two house fires broke out around the same time Tuesday morning.

The first fire began around 4 a.m. at a home in the 4800 block of Edgemore Avenue in Pine Hills.

Firefighters say the got a call that a home was ablaze and found flames coming through the roof and smoke billowing out of the windows.

It took more than a dozen firefighters nearly an hour to get the fire under control.

Officials aren't sure what caused the blaze, but they believe the home was abandoned.

Meanwhile, a second fire burned a home in Winter Park near the intersection of Kentucky Avenue and Formosa Avenue.

Firefighters said the house was engulfed in flames when they arrived. 

Officials believe the house was also abandoned.

No injuries were reported.
