FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. - A 51-year-old bicyclist was killed in Flagler County on Tuesday after troopers say the driver of a car sneezed, causing him to swerve into the bicycle lane and hit the bicyclist.

Florida Highway Patrol said Frederick Martinez was riding his bicycle east on Highway 100 near Old Kings Road when a Ford van drifted into the bicycle lane and struck Martinez, causing him to fall from the bike.

Martinez died on the scene, troopers said. The driver of the van told troopers the crash was caused by a sneeze.

Charges are pending in the case.
