TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida filed a lawsuit Tuesday against the owners of a Tallahassee office complex where inspectors recently discovered pounds of bat feces, The Associated Press  reported.

The lawsuit filed by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation accuses the owners of allowing mold and other unsanitary conditions to go unchecked.

"Last month, inspectors discovered pounds of bat feces in the area right above the ceiling of the office of the agency secretary," The AP reported.

State legislators ordered a halt to lease payments to the complex owners last spring. The complex's workers are scheduled to be moved out over the next two months.

"The office owners contend the Legislature's actions were unconstitutional," The AP reported.
