MIAMI – A gunman opened fire on three teens who were standing in a street in a Miami neighborhood on Monday night, police said.
The teens, ages 14 and 15, were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition, news outlets reported.
Miami-Dade police said the shooting happened around 7:30 p.m.
The Miami Herald reported that one teen was shot in the head and the other two were shot in the abdomen.
Detectives and crime scene investigators worked late into the night to gather evidence. But the gunman, who ran from the shooting scene, remained at large on Tuesday morning.
“This is a senseless and heinous shooting of two 15-year-olds and a 14-year-old,” said Miami-Dade police Det. Khristopher Welch told WSVN-TV.
