MELBOURNE, Fla. - The countdown to the fourth annual Runaway Country Space Coast Music Festival is almost up.
According to Local 6 news partner Florida Today, tourists and festival goers have made the trek here for Brevard's largest outdoor music fest. On the agenda? Contests, mechanical-bull riding, displays and music. Some lucky fans will get a chance to mingle with celebrities.
"This year's lineup is an impressive one," Rob Varley, executive director of the Space Coast Office of Tourism, said in a news release. "We have reports from the festival that tickets have been sold in more than 40 states and 10 countries."
Construction currently is underway for a four-story stage that will host 17 bands. The festival runs Friday through Sunday at Wickham Park in Melbourne.
The headliners this year are The Band Perry, Toby Keith and Keith Urban. Gates open at 11 a.m. Friday and noon Saturday and Sunday.
Other features include food, beer gardens, more than 100 vendors and an Outer Limits party zone.
Single-day tickets are $79. Three-day tickets are $129. Bring lawn chairs and blankets.
Traffic likely will be congested all weekend along Wickham Road, Post Road, and Parkway Drive. Recommended routes to take are U.S. 1 and I-95.
