Police: Bayside High teen arrested for hoax bomb

PALM BAY, Fla. - A teen was arrested at Bayside High School for bringing a hoax bomb to school, according to police.

The 15-year-old admitted to making the hoax bomb and taking it to the school. According to our news partners at Florida Today, once he was read his Miranda rights, he said he made the device at home.

The device was made out of a bottle, wrapped in tape with wires coming out of it, attached to a battery.

The fake bomb had been hidden in the boys' locker room.

He was charged with planting a hoax bomb, a second-degree felony as per state statute.
