LAKE COUNTY, Fla. - Lake County deputies are investigating a shooting that left a convicted sex offender dead early Saturday morning.

Deputies said around 2:30 a.m. a 911 call came in about someone who had been shot in the area of 15720 Stuckey Loop.

Deputies said when they got to the scene, they found 32-year-old Justin Russell being treated by Lake County EMS.

Deputies said Russell was taken to South Lake Hospital where he died.

According to the State of Florida Corrections records, Russell was convicted of drug possession and was a registered sex offender.
