LAKE COUNTY, Fla. - A controversy in Lake County is developing around one man's request to deliver a satanic prayer before a county commission meeting.

The county denied Chaz Stevens' request to give a satanic prayer during invocation, which Stevens says is discriminatory.

In an email, the county says it rejected the request because Stevens, who lives in Jupiter, does not live in Lake County. However, Lake County Commission Chairman Jimmy Conner said he would not allow the prayer, even if Stevens moved to Lake County.

The Orlando-based Liberty Counsel says it would defend Lake County in court.  The Liberty Counsel recently gained attention for defending Kentucky court clerk Kim Davis.
