Major expansion coming to Enzian Theater

Two more theaters to be added

MAITLAND, Fla. – Maitland's Enzian Theater is about to get a major overhaul, including the addition of two brand new theaters.

Enzian officials told Local 6 they hope to break ground at the Florida Film Festival in April, with both new theaters to be completed by 2015.

One of those new theaters will seat 50 people, and the other 80 people. They will be located tucked behind the existing theater, but officials said the screens will be just as large as the current one.

The cost for this expansion is approximately $6 million, of which about one-third of the funds have been raised.

In a letter sent to patrons earlier this month, Executive Vice President Elizabeth Tiedtke said the expansion will allow the theater to offer more festivals, more single-event screenings and more variety.

She said the facility will stay open during construction with the least possible disruption to currently scheduled showings.
