OCALA, Fla. - Two members of a Marion County criminal street gang were arrested with the help of social media, according to deputies.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office said they had been looking for felony fugitive and gang members Mario Daniel McDonald, 23 and Joseph Wayne Edwards, 27 since May 10. By using Facebook, they found a profile containing photographs of the men holding shotguns.

The images posted to Facebook reveal both suspects in possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, which is considered criminal activity.

They also had other gang-related photographs posted, deputies said.

"The still images attached to these Facebook accounts promote and further the interests of the criminal street gang," said Captain James Pogue of the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

According to the Marion County Sheriff's Office, McDonald and Edwards are reportedly associated with a criminal street gang known as the "Crazy White Boys."

Both suspects were arrested and charged with criminal street gang activity and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon on Monday.
