Ocala police plan to charge man in 2 sexual assault cases reported last month

Ladarius Holmes arrested on several charges, including armed sexual battery

OCALA, Fla. – A man who is accused of sexually assaulting two women last month in Ocala near S. Pine Avenue will face charges, police said.

Ladarius Holmes, 25, was arrested in Marion County on Sept. 29 on a Tennessee warrant for aggravated robbery, where he was taken to face those charges, police said.​

Holmes was found to be connected to the sexual assaults in Florida and will be extradited to Florida to face those charges, according to police.

The first victim told police on Sept. 25 that she saw Holmes riding a bicycle down SW 1st Street when she said Holmes threw his bicycle down and approached her. The victim told police Holmes dragged her behind a building and that he had a semi-automatic pistol on him.

The second victim told police the following day that she was walking out of a Marathon gas station on S. Pine Avenue when Holmes approached her and asked her for a ride.

The woman declined and continued to walk to her vehicle, and Holmes got in the passenger seat of her car and demanded that she drive him somewhere, police said. Holmes instructed the woman to drive, and the pair ended up on a dead-end road, police said. After the alleged attack, Holmes had the victim drop him off an an unknown location, according to police

Police are also investigating an reported sexual battery on Aug. 31.

Holmes was arrested for sexual battery, kidnapping, burglary with battery and armed sexual battery.
