New tool for cancer diagnosis -- pregnancy tests

American Cancer Society says tests may be accurate

ORLANDO, Fla. - Men could have a new, unexpected tool to help them diagnose cancer -- a pregnancy test.

That's what the American Cancer Society says.

Doctors there claim that a certain hormone shows up when women are pregnant.

And that same hormone is typically found in men who have testicular cancer.

That's why, the American Cancer Society says, if a pregnancy test comes back positive for men, it could mean they have the disease.

But experts add that more research is needed about this, and you should always consult with your doctor.
