TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida officials are warning of elevated risks of dangerous rip currents and wildfires across the state.
The Florida Division of Emergency Management said Saturday that 15 to 20 mph winds and large waves could create strong rip currents along Florida beaches from Volusia County through Miami-Dade County.
Dry air and breezy conditions also elevate the risk for wildfires this weekend across most of the state, especially in the western Panhandle and in southwest Florida.
Florida Division of Emergency Management Meteorologist Brad Schaaf encouraged residents to check local weather outlooks and follow instructions from local officials.
