3 suspects caught after robbing T-Mobile store at gunpoint

Thieves took off with $20,000 worth of cell phones before getting caught

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Orange County deputies caught three men they said robbed a T-Mobile store at gunpoint on South Orange Blossom Trail near Kissimmee.

Lt. Jim DeLeu said two young men entered the store just before 6 p.m. Saturday, aiming their weapons at about a dozen patrons and employees, including a child. No one was injured.

DeLeu says the men ordered everyone into a backroom and stole about a dozen expensive smartphones and some cash. The phones alone are valued at about $20,000.

According to deputies, during the robbery an employee made a run for it to the Chick-fil-A next door where he called 911. Deputies nearby showed up to the scene and caught a third man in the alleged get-away car. That's when the two armed robbers ran across OBT and threw their guns into a retention pond.

Deputies caught the men and recovered all of the stolen phones. They are looking at surveillance video from inside the store to aide them in the investigation.

Investigators believe the men involved are responsible for a string of other robberies in Orange County.
