Cops: Lost driver hits Orlando woman with moving van

Driver was using GPS when incident occurred, troopers say

ORLANDO, Fla. – An Orange County woman is recovering after being hit by a moving van driven by a man who was distracted by a GPS, troopers said.

The incident happened late Monday night off Harbor Heights Drive in Orlando.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver was with his mother when they got lost.  The driver was using a GPS to find his way through the neighborhood when the van struck a woman, investigators said.

The driver's mother was also injured when she hit her head on the dashboard, troopers said.

Both women were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash is still under investigation.
