Several neighbors called 911 when they heard the explosion and when firefighters arrived on scene, they found no fire, but part of the home was damaged, deputies said.

As a precaution, neighbors around the home were evacuated so deputies could search the home for potentially hazardous materials, deputies said.

Deputies said the man who caused the explosion had been investigated for making homemade fireworks in the past.

Orange County deputies had several roads shut down, but the neighborhood re-opened early Sunday morning.

Deputies said after finding explosives in the home, they arrested 48-year-old William Denmark for possession and discharging a destructive device.

Denmark was taken to the Orange County Jail where he bonded out.
