Masked gunman uses cooler to rob Apopka bank

Robber told bank clerk to fill cooler with cash, police say

APOPKA, Fla. - Apopka police are searching for a masked gunman who walked into a bank with a cooler and told a clerk to fill it with cash.

The robbery happened Wednesday afternoon at the Chase bank at 2111 E. Semoran Boulevard.

Surveillance video shows a man wearing green scrubs, a dark hooded sweatshirt and a ski mask entering the bank holding a gun and a cooler.

The bank robber approached a bank employee at the counter and demanded money.  He told clerk to place the money in the cooler, police said.

After the clerk put an undisclosed amount of money in the cooler, the robber left.

He was seen getting into a four-door beige compact sedan and headed west on State Road 436.

No one was injured during the robbery.
