ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Magic are stepping up to fulfill their mission of being world champions both on and off the court.
The basketball team has decided to donate $25,000 to the Red Cross, in order to support the Okla. tornado relief efforts, according to officials.
Not only will they be endowing funds, but they will also be raising awareness and support of the Red Cross. The team will be doing this via social media channels, as well as the official Orlando Magic website, according to officials.
The Orlando Magic are joining the National Basketball Association and the National Basketball Players Association in aiding Okla.'s recovery. The Oklahoma City Thunder, Kevin Durant, and several other NBA teams are also joining in to make a difference.
Central Florida residents can make their own contributions to the Red Cross by texting REDCROSS to 90999.
