OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. - Osceola County deputies said they arrested a man after he assaulted a woman Friday night.

Deputies said on Friday, around 11:09 p.m., they went ot a home on Tampa Avenue in Kissimmee after receiving several disturbance calls from witnesses and the suspect.

Upon arrival, deputies entered the residence and located the suspect, identified as Carl Capers, sexually battering a female victim, officials said.

Capers made several comments indicating he physically and sexually abused the victim, deputies said.

Deputies said the victim appeared to have head trauma and was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

Deputies said Capers, a convicted felon, was released from the North Carolina Corrections Department in January after serving time for a similar offense.

Since relocating to the area, deputies have had several documented incidences with Capers, officials said.

On two occasions, Capers was admitted to a treatment center for mental health issues.

Capers is confined in the Osceola County Jail with no bond.
