Police: Teacher bought marijuana from undercover officer

Teacher at Gifford Alternative School in Vero Beach arrested

ORLANDO, Fla. – William Howle, a teacher at Gifford Alternative School, was arrested on Tuesday when he purchased 27 grams of marijuana from an undercover officer.

A source informed the Indian River County Sheriff's Office that Howle had asked for information on where he could buy marijuana. According to the report, an undercover officer contacted Howle saying he could meet Howle to make a marijuana transaction.

An hour later, the officer met Howle at a Burger King on U.S. 1 north of C.R. 512. There, the officer told Howle to get into the vehicle and handed Howle the marijuana when he did. Howle then gave the office $300, resulting in his arrest, according to the report.

According to the police report, Howle told officers that he purchases marijuana once a month.
