Man charged in Christmas Eve double fatal crash

Polk County deputies say Michael Sisco had Xanax, alcohol in system

LAKE WALES, Fla. - A Central Florida man has been charged in the deaths of an elderly couple killed in a crash on Christmas Eve.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office says Michael Sisco was driving under the influence and going the wrong direction when he struck a PT Cruiser driven by Felix Rosa on Dec. 24. Rosa was seriously injured and his 70-year-old parents were both killed.

Investigators conducted an analysis of Sisco's blood and determined he had Xanax and alcohol in his system.

Following a five-month investigation, Sisco was taken into custody at his Lake Wales home Wednesday and transported to the Polk County Jail. He is being held without bond until a first court appearance on Thursday.
