Authorities investigate if 2 robberies are related

Authorities released the 911 calls on Tuesday from the armed robberies at an Altamonte Springs Publix and an Apopka McDonald's.

The robberies occurred hours within each other overnight on Sunday and Monday and authorities are investigating if they are linked.

Police said the gunmen stormed the McDonald's off of Rock Springs Road and zip-tied the manager, who was pregnant, two workers and a customer.

Earlier, on Sunday night at 10 p.m., another armed robbery with three masked gunmen was reported in Altamonte Springs at a Publix.

"I'm at Publix right now and people came in here with guns," said one 911 caller who was inside the store when the gunmen stormed inside.

Surveillance video shows several employees and customers were forced to put their arms in the air as the robbers demanded the manager on duty and asked to be brought to the cash office.

Police haven't made any arrests in either robbery.
