Cops search for man after carjacking, chase

Victim shot at before carjacking, deputies said

CASSELBERRY, Fla. – Seminole County deputies are searching for a man after a driver was carjacked at gunpoint early Thursday.

Deputies responded to a report of gunshots in the area of Anchor Road just after 4 a.m.

When emergency responders arrived on scene they found a man who said someone stole his pickup truck after pulling a gun and shooting at him.

An Altamonte Police officer spotted the truck a few minutes later, but the driver sped off.

After a brief pursuit the pickup truck spun out and crashed on U.S. Highway 17-92 near Plumosa Avenue.  The driver then ran off into a nearby neighborhood.

Deputies searched the area for about an hour, but were not able to locate the driver.

The victim was not injured in the incident and deputies said he did not wish to press charges.
