Sanford house catches fire; flames seen for miles

SANFORD, Fla. – Firefighters from Sanford and Seminole County Fire Rescue worked to control a fire that broke out in a two-story home Sunday.

Firefighters said they were called out to the fire at 205 East 10th Street in Sanford around 11:15 a.m. Sunday when reports of a smoke in a home were called in.

When firefighters got to the house, there were heavy flames and thick, black smoke coming from the roof, officials said.

Firefighters said there were animals in the home, but it was unknown if anyone lived in the home or if there were any injuries.

Firefighters have blocked off the area to put out the fire and smoke could be seen for miles.
