ORLANDO, Fla. - It's been said that drinking alcohol in small amounts can lower the risk of heart disease and stroke.

And now, doctors say it can also help your bones.

According to a new report in the British Medical Journal, women who regularly have more than three alcoholic drinks a week for at least 10 years have half the risk of arthritis.

Doctors say alcohol can lower inflammation in your bones and joints, which helps stop the disease.

But they warn that too much alcohol can damage your liver.
