2 sought after shooting, robbing pizza delivery driver in Sumter County

Domino's driver attacked by masked men when delivering pizza to home, deputies say

SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – Sumter County deputies are searching for two men who robbed and shot a Domino's pizza delivery driver in the face early Thursday morning.

Deputies said the 46-year-old driver was making a pizza delivery to a home in the area of County Road 235 and County Road 462 when the robbery occurred.

When the driver arrived to the home, two masked men, one of whom had a black barrel long rifle, demanded money from him, according to deputies.

When the driver refused, one of the men shot him in the face through the car window. According to the report, the men then pulled the driver from the truck took cash from his front pants pockets, two pizzas and a 2-liter bottle of Sprite.

The robbers were last seen running eastbound on CR 235. Deputies described them as two black males in their mid-20s, 5 feet 6 inches tall to 5 feet 8 inches tall with slim built, wearing white T-shirts and had bandannas covering their face.

The driver was taken to Ocala Regional Hospital in stable condition.
