'Uber' to deliver ice cream to customers

Ice cream delivered from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday

Nosh on some frozen yogurt -- Go the fro-yo route over ice cream. Yogurt has a higher water content than ice cream, so its better for keeping your body temperature down.

Popular ride-sharing app 'Uber,' will be delivering ice cream on-demand, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.

All you have to do is choose the ice cream option on your 'Uber' app and an ice cream truck will deliver desserts within minutes.

Event organizers say there is no need for cash, expenses will be billed directly to the 'Uber' account that initiates the delivery.

For $20 you can get an assortment of 5 classic treats. You can purchase additional treats at $4 each, to be billed to the same ‘Uber' account.

'Uber' warns demand will be high and availability will be limited.

Local 6 called on the Uber Ice Cream truck Friday morning. After a few attempts, the request went through. Once initiated, an "Ice Twister" ice cream truck arrived in less than 10 minutes. More than 10 flavors were available, with numerous toppings to choose from.
