Deputies said they were checking on Maurice McDuffy, 35, when they saw the drugs on his lap and cash. He was arrested for trafficking MDMA, possession of morphine, possession of amphetamine and possession of marijuana, according to a Volusia County Sheriff's Office news release.

The release stated that the deputies could see a clear, plastic food container and visible inside the container were some plastic bags with chunks, which looked like narcotics. The substance was tested and determined to be MDMA, also known as ecstasy. More than $1,000 was also found.

McDuffy was booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail in Daytona Beach on $70,500 bond.
