Man, woman found dead in Ormond Beach home in apparent murder-suicide

911 caller tells dispatcher he shot his wife

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – A man and woman were found shot to death inside an Ormond Beach home in an apparent murder-suicide, police said.

A man called 911 around 12:45 a.m. Friday and said that he shot his wife, according to police. 

"My wife was killed," the 911 caller said.

"Do you know who killed her?" the dispatcher asked.

"I did," the man said.  "She's suffering from Alzheimer's."

The man hung up about 15 seconds later.

Officers went to the home on Ribbon Falls Drive and found a man dead from a gunshot wound in the living room and a woman dead in a bedroom, according to police.

The names of the man and woman have not been released.

Ormond Beach police continue to investigate.
