ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – Marisa Mastro was snapping away cherishing the memories from the old Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Ormond Beach before it turns into a pile of rubble.
Mastro said she has mixed emotions. Mastro will be saying good bye to a place she once used to think of as a second home.

"I spent a lot of time here for health issues and my mom passed away here. I basically lived here with her in intensive care for like four years. There are some memories," Mastro said.
Mastro is just one of many served by the 45-year-old hospital.
"Because the building was so old, we couldn't put in new technology there and provide state-of-the-art care, and semi-private rooms," said Darlinda Copeland, the Chief Operating Officer.
Copeland said it costs $70,000 a month to maintain the empty building. After having it on the market for three years, buyers weren't biting and it would cost too much to donate it.
Demolishing the building proved to be the most cost effective.
The demolition is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning and police will be closing off several streets around the building.
After the million dollar demolition, materials will be recycled and over the next three months and the property will be seeded for nice green grass and be put back on the market.
