Three teens arrested in gang-style attack in Daytona Beach

Video of beating posted to Facebook

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – Three teens, including a 13-year-old, are under arrest and two more are still on the loose after authorities say they beat another teen in Daytona Beach.

The 13-year-old, whose name is being withheld because of his age, was arrested on aggravated battery charges Tuesday. A 15-year-old, who attends Spruce Creek High School has also been arrested, along with a 16-year-old.

The mom of the victim, Felicia White, spoke only to Local 6 and said the whole incident started with a Facebook feud.

Her 14-year-old son had spoken with one of the teens on the social media site, but its unclear what was said that led to him being beat up.

"I can't believe someone would do that to another human being," said White.

White said her son was riding his bike and when her son saw the teens he tried riding off, but the five boys caught up with him.

Four of them corner him on the porch and then punch and stomp him repeatedly. Daytona Beach police said the victim was punched, kicked and stomped on and suffered a concussion, a busted lip and a laceration atop his head.

The boys then posted the video on Facebook.

"That wasn't the smartest thing because after they put it up, everyone was telling me to look at it," said White.

So far because of the videos police have arrested three of suspects involved.

"He's doing a lot better now by the grace of God, but I'm glad everyone has been arrested," said White.

White told Local 6 she hopes other parents can learn from what happened to her son.

"I think all mothers should be watching what their child do on Facebook," White said.

Authorities also released the 911 calls on Tuesday reporting the incident from White.

"There's been some kind of feuding going on on Facebook or whatever and like, they had been threatening to beat my son up," the 911 caller said. "So I've been like picking him up to and from the bus stop and whatever and he went around the corner and the boys jumped on him."

The victim is expected to be OK.

The 13-year-old, 15-year-old and 16-year-old have been charged with aggravated battery. Police believe the 16-year-old started the incident by taking the bike and have also charged him with robbery.

Police continue to look for two more suspects involved.
