DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Gov. Rick Scott announced the opening of Total Quality Logistics, a company that will bring over 100 jobs to Central Florida. The new Daytona Beach office is the fifth location that TQL has opened in the state.
"This state is on a roll," Scott said during an appearance in Volusia County. "We are clearly becoming the global destination for jobs."
The Cincinnati-based firm acts as a middleman between trucking and independent companies to transport products. With more than 3,000 employees nationwide, TQL established a location in Daytona Beach after Volusia County agreed to be part of the state's qualified target industry tax program.
"Part of the reason we've done so well with economic development is because we've had a public-private partnership with enterprise and housing companies where we could get a return for taxpayers and help companies expand," Scott said.
With employment rates dropping in the state, Scott said TQL is providing 450 jobs and has already hired employees from the Daytona Beach area.
