TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State appears to be getting serious about beefing up its nonconference football schedule.

The school announced Monday that it has agreed to a home-and-home series with perennial power Boise State for the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

Florida State athletic director Randy Spetman said Boise State will visit Tallahassee on Sept. 7, 2019. The Seminoles will travel to Boise, Idaho, for a Sept. 12, 2020, game. It'll mark the first meetings for the two schools.

"Adding the Broncos to our football schedule continues our commitment to bringing top quality opponents to Doak Campbell Stadium. With our neutral site game versus Oklahoma State in 2014, the addition of Pitt and Syracuse to the ACC and now this series, we feel we are putting our football program in the best possible position to compete in the new BCS beginning in 2014," Spetman said.

Boise State has been one of the most successful BCS football programs over the last 11 seasons with a record of 129-15 (.896), 11 consecutive bowl appearances and seven wins in those postseason games.

Boise State head coach Chris Petersen is 84-8.
