College Park family receives new puppy from OPD for son

COLLEGE PARK, Fla. - A car wash fundraiser will be held on Saturday to benefit the cost of the new dog for the College Park family whose previous dog was killed by a home intruder in January.

Orlando police said the home intruder, who was arrested last month, broke into three houses along King Street in College Park and killed the 2-year-old boxer in the process. The dog, named Wilson, was a puppy when he was given to the children of the family as a Christmas gift two years ago.

Police donated a new boxer puppy for the family for the Withey family's son, Jack.

The car wash will be held at the College Park Sunoco on Edgewater Drive from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Saturday.

The money raised will cover the costs of the new puppy and any additional money is going to be donated by the family, with any additional money going by the Florida Boxer Rescue.
