George Zimmerman is appealing a court ruling in his defamation lawsuit against NBC for releasing edited versions of his 911 calls.

Zimmerman says the network made him look like a racist by editing part of his call to 911 the night he shot and killed Trayvon Martin in Sanford in Feb. 2012.

A judge ruled last month the network's edited calls were insignificant.

The edited calls aired four times in March 2012, prompting the lawsuit by Zimmerman.

It's not known yet when the case could end up back before an appeals court judge.

Zimmerman, a former neighborhood watch leader, was acquitted of second-degree murder last year in Martin's death.
