PALM COAST, Fla. - A 12-year-old Palm Coast girl was arrested after Flagler County deputies say she threatened another student with a kitchen knife at her bus stop on Tuesday morning.

The girl, who is a student at Rymfire Elementary School, was charged with improper exhibit of a weapon and aggravated assault after she pulled out the 12-inch knife at her bus stop and told another student she was going to stab him with it, deputies said.

The other students at the bus stop reported the threat to the bus driver, who called school officials to meet the bus upon arriving at the school, according to the report. The school officials searched the student's bag and found the knife.

The girl told officials she didn't know how the knife ended up in her bag and that she saw it in there, but didn't tell any adults or turn it in, deputies said. She told deputies that the victim was teasing her at the bus stop, which he does every day. A verbal argument then ensued, according to the report.

The girl was suspended from school for a minimum of 10 days, along with facing aggravated assault charges.

No one was injured in the incident.
