ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando police on Tuesday located the guardian of a toddler found wandering alone wearing only a shirt and diaper.

The boy, who police said was 2 to 3 years old, was found Tuesday morning near 5870 Sundown Circle and Grant Street.  His guardian was located a short time after police issued an alert about the incident in the Canopy Apartment complex.

Results of the initial investigation are the 2-year-old was left safely in the care of his home-schooled 13-year-old sister while the mother was at work, police said.  The teen fell asleep and the child made his way out of the apartment by opening a door.

Once the teen woke up, she checked on the child and began notifying family members and searching for the child when she couldn't find him.

The initial investigation found there is no criminal intent or actions in the case and that the child is well-cared for and in excellent health.
