Gunmen ambush, attack, tie up man in Orlando home invasion

Orange County deputies investigate incident

ORLANDO, Fla. - A 59-year-old man returning home in an Orlando gated community was ambushed, beaten and tied up by two gunmen, according to deputies.

The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. Sunday in the 2600 block of Cheval Street in the Stoneybrook East Golf Club subdivision off Alafaya Trail.

According to Orange County deputies, the man was walking back to his apartment from a friend's home when he was confronted by two gunmen.  The assailants tied the man up, pistol-whipped him and ransacked his apartment before running away, deputies said.

The man managed to call a friend, who arrived at the home with another friend and freed the man.

Deputies said they don't believe the incident was a random attack.

A search failed to locate the culprits, both of whom were described as black men in their 30s about 6 feet 1 inch tall.  They were both wearing "jersey black basketball-type suits with a red stripe up the side," deputies said.
