MELBOURNE, Fla. - Brevard County authorities are searching for the person they say is responsible for making hoax calls to schools in the area about a gunman outside of the campus demanding money.
A lockdown was lifted at Melbourne High School on Friday after the call, in which the person said he had weapons on campus.
West Melbourne police said several schools in their area were also hoaxed on Friday after the same caller.
Melbourne police say it's the third time in two weeks that they've had a caller report "hoaxes" at schools.
Police said they have lead on the culprit, who they describe as a "habitual" caller.
No other details were immediately available.
