More than 20 Florida counties under burn ban

Is your area under a burn ban?

Dry conditions have fueled hundreds of brush fires across Florida during the last month.

Because of the drought and dry conditions, more than 20 Florida counties have issued burn bans to prevent more fires.

From January to April 23 more than 1,775 wildfires have been reported in Florida, burning more than 146,000 acres, according to the Florida Forest Service.

The following Florida counties are under a burn ban:

  • Baker County
  • Brevard County
  • Citrus County
  • Collier County
  • Flagler County
  • Glades County
  • Hendry County
  • Hernando County
  • Lake County
  • Levy County
  • Manatee County
  • Marion County
  • Nassau County
  • Okeechobee
  • Orange County
  • Osceola County
  • Palm Beach County
  • Pasco County
  • Polk County
  • Putnam County
  • Sarasota County
  • Seminole County
  • St. Lucie County
  • Union County
  • Volusia County
