KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Kissimmee police have arrested a man they say killed his 16-month-old daughter.

Anthony Martin, 24, has been charged with first-degree felony murder and aggravated child abuse in the baby's May 23 death.

Police said Martin took his 16-month old daughter to Florida Hospital because the baby was not breathing.

When detectives arrived at the hospital, they were told the baby died and had several suspicious bruises on her body. An autopsy ruled the baby's death a homicide, police said.

Detectives interviewed Martin and others that lived at the home on Tarpon Street about events leading to the baby's death, but Martin's statements were inconsistent, according to police.

Police said an arrest warrant was obtained for Martin on Thursday and Martin told detectives how the injuries led to the baby's death. It's not clear what the details were.

Martin was taken to the Osceola County jail on no bond.
