Lake Brantley, Lake Nona roll in games of the week

Lake Brantley won 48-21 and Lake Nona was victorious 49-14

ORLANDO, Fla. - This games of the week were Lake Brantley vs. Olympia and Celebration vs. Lake Nona.

Both home teams, Lake Brantley and Celebration, were celebrating their homecoming tonight.

In Lake Brantley, the 5-1 Patriots welcomed in the 3-3 Olympia Titans coached by Bob Head.

Lake Brantley, coached by George Clayton, has been deemed one of the top teams in Central Florida and certainly played like it against the tough Titans Friday.

Lake Brantley, who had its fair share of 1st quarter mistakes on both sides of the ball, recovered and took a 21-7 lead into halftime thanks to touchdown runs from Damon Haecker and Zack Krider.

The Patriot defense, led by anchors Shane Schroeder and Dominic Zanca controlled the line of scrimmage all night long. This made it extremely hard for the Titans to establish any kind of consistency on the offensive side of the ball.

Olympia's lone touchdown in the 1st half came from a touchdown pass, which landed in the hands of Alex Gomez. Gomez scrambled for the 50+ yard score.

Unfortunately, that was all the sparks that flew for the Titans in this game. The homecoming crowd and the intensity from the whole Lake Brantley team was enough to carry the Patriots through the second half for an easy 48-21 win.

Lake Brantley is now 6-1 and will welcome Hagerty next week for its last home game of the year.

The Olympia Titans are now 3-4 and will travel to Wekiva next week.

Our second game saw Lake Nona travel to Kissimmee to face-off with the Storm of Celebration.
Once Celebration's homecoming crown settled in, Lake Nona took them for a ride.

Celebration had no answer for Lake Nona's fast and powerful air attack. Lake Nona jumped out to a 13-0 lead and never looked back, eventually defeating Celebration 49-14.

Lake Nona now is 4-2 while Celebration falls to 0-7.
