Lauren Rowe

Local 6?s award-winning anchorwoman, Lauren Rowe, is committed to getting to the heart of an issue. Voted the Best News Anchor by the Orlando Business Journal, nominated for an Emmy, and awarded for her outstanding achievement for her work in the special documentary, ?Problem Solvers Prime Time,? she is at the forefront of Central Florida news. Bringing you news you can trust every weeknight at 6, 7, and 11pm.

Lauren takes a hands-on approach to each and every newscast. Carefully sifting through stories, going through scripts, making sure even the smallest detail that could affect you is covered and thoroughly explained. It?s passion that drives her to deliver Central Florida?s best newscasts into your home each and every night. She has anchored every newscast at Local 6 and covered some of the biggest stories in Florida?s history. She was on the anchor desk after the Shuttle Columbia disaster and during the record setting 2004 Hurricane season.

When deadly tornadoes struck Central Florida on Groundhog day, February 2007, Lauren reported the news to you from the anchor desk, but once off air, she immediately headed out into the field. Covering first hand the damage and the aftermath. She?s not one to shy away from a big story, but rather puts in extra time and effort to make it worth watching!

When she?s not anchoring Local 6 News 6, 7, and 11, she is busy producing and hosting Local 6?s Sunday news show, ?Flashpoint.? On Flashpoint she has pressed some of Florida?s most powerful people and politicians on issues that affect the lives of every Central Floridian. When there is a tough issue at hand, you can count on Lauren to ask the important questions and push for an answer.

Lauren is equally compassionate about getting out in the community, especially to fight causes that affect women and children. She has been the Chairman for the MS Walk, bringing awareness to the fact that Multiple Sclerosis affects mostly women. She is a past co-chairman of the Lisa Merlin House Board of Directors, an agency that helps women recovering from drug and alcohol abuse. She currently sits on the Marketing Committee for the Heart of Florida United Way, and is on the board of directors for, ?Heart to Heart: A Community Care Program? in Seminole County, a homeless shelter where women and their children live together while recovering from different forms of abuse.
