WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - Legoland Florida on Tuesday announced plans for its major upcoming expansion project: The World of Chima presented by Cartoon Network.

The expansion, slated to open this summer, is based on Lego's newest product line, which tells the story of tribes of animal warriors in a mystical land battling over a powerful energy source known as CHI.

The expansion will center on an interactive water ride, the Quest for CHI. Other elements include the Speedorz Arena, where guests can build ripcord powered vehicle models out of Lego bricks and compete against each other and a new 4D movie.

Since opening in October 2011, Legoland has added a Star Wars-themed area and a water park.

Legoland Florida is based on the building-block toys and has rides and attractions geared toward ages 2 to 12. The Winter Haven location is one of five Lego-based theme parks in the world, and the company's largest.
