Life-sized replica of Noah's ark debuts

Dutch creationist Johan Huibers spends 20 years making Biblical boat

A life-sized replica of Noah's ark -- which took a wealthy Dutch creationist 20 years to complete -- has opened to the public in the Netherlands.

Johan Huibers says he had a dream about Noah and the vessel he built when the Earth flooded, so he recreated the boat.

The 427-foot installation is based on measurements cited in the Bible.

The ark has some live animals on it, including chickens and parakeets, and there are several life-sized animal statues, such as giraffes, elephants and lions.

The ark, which can hold 1,500 people, also boasts a movie theater and a restaurant.
