Organs of Brooke Dawkins saves 4 lives

ORLANDO, Fla. – A UCF student who died in a crash in 2014 will be honored during the Tournament of Roses Parade in California.

Brooke Dawkins was 19 years old when a truck hit and killed her near the university's campus nearly four years ago. Her organs were later used to save four lives and restore sight for two others.

Brooke's family was at Boone High School on Sunday to put the finishing touches on a floragraph to send to Pasadena, California. It consists of spices, seeds and crushed flowers that that form a picture of her.

The floragraph will be on a float in the annual parade. The Dawkins family says they hope to raise awareness for organ donation.

The Tournament of Roses Parade will take place Jan. 1.
