Army unit attacked in Pul-E Alam

CHULUOTA, Fla. - Two Central Florida soldiers were killed Sunday in Afghanistan by an improvised explosive device.

Pfc. Brenden Salazar, 20, of Chuluota, and Spc. Justin Horsley, 21, of Palm Bay, were both killed in the same attack on Sunday when enemy forces attacked their unit in Pul-E Alam, Afghanistan.

They were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Caserma Ederle, Italy.

Salazar graduated from Hagerty High School in Oveido and Horsley graduated from Bayside High School in Palm Bay.
