NEW SMYRNA BEACH – A man in his 50s drowned Sunday off New Smyrna Beach, according to Volusia County Beach Safety.
The man was found unconscious near the 2400 block of South Atlantic Avenue, authorities said.

CPR was performed on the man, but he was later pronounced dead at a hospital, according to officials.
The incident is under investigation.
