A miracle! That’s what Washington state troopers say happened at the scene of a crash involving a car and a big rig.

The truck landed on the car, crushing it, pictures show.

But the 46-year-old woman inside of the small vehicle walked away from the crash, officials said.

“It is nothing short of a miracle in my opinion, I don’t know how she survived this,” Washington State Patrol trooper Rick Oliphant said. “There is no explanation to why she’s alive, let alone suffering minor injuries.”

Troopers say the woman was driving her Nissan when a truck in front of her slowed down, then she slowed down. But the semi behind her did not and smashed into the car from behind.

The force of the impact folded the car in half. The truck landed on top of it, according to troopers.

Troopers shut down both directions of Interstate 5 and quickly called for a tow truck. When a trooper approached the car, he said he couldn’t believe what he heard.

“He walked up and he was walking around the car. And he heard help, help. And he was like oh my goodness,” Oliphant said.

Troopers say the tow truck lifted the front end of the semi off the car and she miraculously crawled out of a little gap where the passenger window was.

“She was able to pull herself out with her own power which is incredible,” Oliphant said.

According to officials, the woman walked away with just some pain in her ribs and her head after the crash.
